Me missing y'all so much.....Just had to show you guys how beautiful my new city is.....It's a island connected a very beautiful city, very close to many famous/big cities in yankee & borderline with mexico..... the weather is heavenly....the sight of the water is so serene..... the perfect city to enjoy evening long walks and bike rides..... there are so many restaurants of different origin/countries representing here..... ......but regardless, .....I am so in love!!!!

When Life Gets Really Busy!

* sneeze* *sneeze*.....dusting off cob webs.....What's a girl to do when life gets really busy? .....I say get busy with it, right?...lol!..... It's been almost six months since i updated my blog.

It's been six tedious months for me....i have relocated to four different cities/states already and am getting ready to relocate again at the end of this month; I have gone through three different jobs but i have finally settled with the fourth/present one which involved a major career change; i have transferred/changed school twice and back to looking up/applying to grad schools in my upcoming residence; Still nursing my baby business, started yet another business and still chasing every opportunity for growth; going through a crossroad in my relationship, trying to decide if it's time to walk away from a "two years relationship" or hold on; dealing with drastic loss of friendships as a result of my inability to keep up in recent times; trying to grow and keep my bond with my saviour intact.....and lots more of life's challenges.

Though i constantly wish the number of hours in a day could double up so i could get more things done, Being able to get four or five hours of sleep daily is a tremendous blessing for me at this point....I am truly grateful & extremely thankful to God for bringing me this far cause it sure ain't in any way by my doing....And am so appreciative of the support am getting from my family and the very few close friends in my life...they are such a treasure mine.

With all being said.....i tender an appeal to Blogsville, please bear with me a little longer, hopefully things will come together soon and i will have more time to blog.

For everyone out there going through some tough times, i hope you find this scriptures encouraging enough to hang in there and keep believing in God for the best......God is truly faithful and his love for us is everlasting.

ZOOM ZOOOOOOMMMMM~~~The Latest International Driver In Town....lol!

Happy New year to everyone, am sure y'all had a wonderful festive season and i hope the year has been going great so far. "Me's" been balling like a mini-diva that i am; my festive season was great, had lots to eat, had a lot of quality "me-time" and was able to get enough rest; But now, am back to school n real life.

The new year has been splendid and a lot of great things has been rolling in so far. Am so grateful to God for his endless divine blessing and my wonderful family. Mehn! Life's been good and refreshing like a bowl of vanilla ice cream with choc chips & pecan nuts on a Friday evening....lol! Am certain things will keep getting better by the grace of God.

So i have been in the states for almost five years now, and guess what??????????? I just got my LICENSE yesterday......No, not my Diva License ~ am still working on dat...lol......I mean my DRIVER'S LICENSE. Mehn! am so glad am through with all that now, it definitely been a journey tryna get my license considering the fact that i had my driving permit for almost 15months. Am sure y'all are probably wondering why it took me that long, i honestly don't know even though i have been driving for quite a while now........at least, am so happy i have it now.

I have been driving for awhile now but the first time i took my road test last February, i failed it. The lady that conducted the road test was so annoying and not so nice at all. Besides, i just started driving then and I was scared out of my pant; Ever since then, i kinda didn't care too much for it as i continued driving without a license, and luckily, i have never been pulled over by a cop.

I suppose it yay me, right?......lol! Am just so excited about it and many more things going on for me; Finally, i can start planning to get my own lil whip.....Baba God, am adding that to my list of needs for this year. BTW, Just in case there is someone in blogsville that is extremely blessed n wouldn't mind sharing wiv a sister, a Mercedes McLaren SLR Roadster will do....lol! (Picture above).

Just in case y'all ever see me cruising round town, don't be afraid to take a ride with me cos guess what???..... I am CERTIFIED now.....lol@ myself.

Hmmn!.......Been Like Forever

How have y'all been? It sure seems like forever since my last post; yh, i know it too and i sometimes feel bad about it. Life, School, Work, Business, Family, Relationship, Friends, and everything about me have been very busy...more like insanely busy, but God is definitely taking control. Some days i feel like school and work are some of the worst things that could ever happen to mankind but then, that is a very big lie; there are several worse things that could happen to humans.

Regardless of how busy and insane everything is, am still very grateful for a lot of things. God has been very merciful and faithful to me. I am very certain that my future is very blessed and promising.

My Msc. program is going great.
My family is doing good, still believing in God that things will get better than it is.
God is taking control of my finances (especially at this season when money quick dey go but quite slow to come ).
My business is growing (quite very stressful n demanding but it's definitely making great progress) .
Am very grateful for the people God has placed in my life at this particular time...... OMG! y'all are very AWESOME ~ especially "my super team", working with me in regards to my business; I really~really appreciate y'all's dedication, loyalty, and effort..... It means the world to me and I pray that the good Lord we serve will definitely reward y'all abundantly.
Am very grateful for my blogsville family, even though i haven't blogged in a while, i always make out time to do my blog rounds~ y'all have always been a great part of my life and have been very inspiring & encouraging from the beginning......Y'all mean so much to me. (thanks to everyone leaving a comment, sending emails, and checking up on me via faceb!....y'all are incredible) ......thanks so much for the love.
Am grateful to God for meeting me at the point of my needs and always coming to my rescue .......words can't express my gratitude, i will forever be thankful to you, lord.
Am thankful for everything and the life that am living ...... The Lord is beyond Great!!!

Anyways, i have to get back to my pile of assignments . Please, keep me in your prayers and i promise to be back, hopefully soon.......

Hate when I feel the need to clear my head, it means that not everything is going well. So it 1:32am and I pretty much just came from a walk that lasted over an hr. I cried, laughed, smiled, sang; but most of all, I cleared my head. Now I remembered what my priorities are and well....back to the books. At this age everything else is an added bonus and not that Important. Am writing from my heart right now...............Hopefully by the time i go to bed and wake up tomorrow, Everything will make more sense.

Been a Haute Minute.......

Been quite a haute minute!

For weeks, i have been staring @ my blog every time i log in without writing about anything. I do have a lot of thoughts going through my head, yet can't seem to think of anything quite worth blogging about or maybe i just don't know how to express my thoughts.....but anyway, am gonna make an effort today. So here we go***

Am resuming back to school this month......am starting my Msc. & hopefully, by the time i get done with that, i would have a great job n things will be set in place for the next level

My elder brother is getting married on the 29th of this month.....really happy for him. It's kinda overwhelming whenever i think about it....don't really know why.....guess it's probably cos the thoughts of him getting married is kinda "grand" in some kinda way ....kinda just realizing he's actually old n the memories of childhood n us growing up is still quite vivid in my mind. Every time i think about it, i find myself tryna understand how come he has grown so fast n now getting married..... hmmn! before i finish spelling M-A-R-R-I-A-G-E, my sister n other two brothers will start getting married too....In a couple of years from now, my dad will probably start dealing with the "Empty Nest Syndrome".....lol!
Anyway, i guess growing up is inevitable n getting married is part of life as well....... Wish him a happy married life n God's abundant blessings.

My dad n godfather will be visiting this month from naija.....looking forward to seeing them.

Am tryna move into a new apartment but the thought of parking n moving is killing me ............i hate, hate, n hate parking n moving......can't wait for the time when i will finally park, move, and settled down in my own home.

Lately, am beginning to develop some kinda discomfort that i only feel when am about to talk on the phone.....don't really enjoy staying on the phone for too long .....n it's getting worse cos am not keeping in touch with people as much i would love to.

Ok! now am tired n feeling sleepy.....mehn! i think it's time to bounce n retire back onto my bed....

Guess i tried, at least i made an effort & was able to get some writing done.......y'all be safe, aiit.

RELIGION AND RELATIONSHIPS

Relationships, Relationships, Relationships..........yh, that's what we will be talking about.

Relationships are complicated but could be very simple at the same time (if one understands the situation). Every relationship is unique in it's own way, which is very reasonable considering the fact that every individual is very different and unique.

I am really worried, concerned and curious about this. Am from a muslim and christain family, my dad and my brothers are all muslims while me and my sister are christains. My parent do not mind in anyway as they gave us the liberty to choose which religion we want as long as you are dilligent and committed to it. The funny thing about the situation now is that all my brothers are dating christains (committed relationship) and none of them mind neither does anyone in the family either. My sister is dating a christain, so she really doesn't have to worry about this.

Here is the deal for me, most of the guys tryna get with me are muslims and i just can't help but wonder how that will work. It's not like i mind dating or marrying a muslim but am worried about whoever it is i choose to date/ marry & what might happen later on in life. I always make it clear to them that am not willing to change my religion for any reason. Most of them are relationship worthy guys and are willing n ready to commit but then the religion differences keeps coming up. Some of them claims not to have a problem with me being a christain and are willing to have a relationship with me regardless of my religion.

Ok, so i talked to my brothers and they apparently don't think/see anything wrong with the idea of dating a muslim if he's ready n willing to let me keep being a christain; but then my close friends don't seem to like the idea cos they think the man might later demand that i become a muslim. I perfectly understand both POV but then..............uuuurrrrrrrgggggghhhhhh!......it's all confusing.

So, here is my question....(remember, am a female).....How important is religion in a relationship/marriage? Does religion really matters in a relationship/marriage or not? What is your opinion about couples with different religions?

I would really love to hear what y'all think especially the married folks in the house.

NB~ Congratulations to my elder brother and his girlfriend.....they got engaged yesterday...... yep! he proposed and yesterday was her birthday too......How sweet is that, getting engaged on your birthday. Am really happy for them......Should decide the wedding date before the end of summer.

Woke up this morning feeling great, spent some time meditating on the word of God like i do daily but afterwards, i couldn't get rid of a thought that came to my mind......" It is easier to love mankind as a whole than to love one's neighbor" .......just thought i should share this with y'all; in hopes that y'all will let me know how true you think this is or what your take is on this.

Rememeber, "love your neighbor as yourself" is one of Gods' commandments and like they say "Love conquers all".

NATURAL HAIR; CALL TO RESCUE

Am so glad it's Friday.....it almost didn't want to come fast enough, but hey, it's finally here. Okay my people, i need some help with my hair oooo, sigh!!! I cut off almost all my hair living about an inch on December 10th, 2007 and i have left my hair all natural since then which is about a year and half or so.

I have been loving the fact that i went natural even though it was so difficult dealing with my hair at the beginning. Most of my siblings n friends didn't support the idea of me going natural but i did.........which means i had to stay committed to being natural or i will get laughed at if i decided to change my hair. Since then i have learn to be innovative with my hair and the styles i wear.

I changed the hair products i use when i cut my hair and everything seems to be working good for me, but for the past couple of months, i have noticed that my hair n scalp looks dry/get dry easily regardless of what hair products i use. Now, am beginning to think that maybe i need to use different hair products or do something different.

I usually use Pantene shampoo and leave-in conditioner which am not sure is the best shampoo/conditioner for natural hair; use Softsheen care free curls and Softsheen moisturizing finishing lotion for my curls; use Softsheen revitalizing mousse and luster curl texturizer to make my hair softer (because my natural hair is as hard as it can get); use organic olive oil moisturizing hair lotion often, and hair jam sometimes.

I usually wash my hair every weekend but sometimes, i wash it every two weeks depending on the kind of hair style i have on and how busy i am. Lately, my hair has turned into something else, and i know it's time to do something about it but i honestly do not know what to do.

Bits n Pieces

Yours faithfully is so stressed out now, it's just the grace of God that keeps me going lately. Mehn, trying to get a real job in this so-called recession period is no joke at all. Sometimes, i wonder why i didn't graduate earlier or probably stay in school a lil longer cos this job search is driving me nuts. My bank account light is becoming deem but hopefully it won't enter red before God work something out for me. On the brighter note tho, am still alive n kicking so i guess that's more than enough reasons to be grateful........Thank you Lord.

Thanks to everyone that wished me good luck and congratulated me on my graduation.... My research n presentations went great; exams & graduation were great as well..... Thanks so much, i really appreciate it.

To those who have been with me for a while, y'all will remember my friend that i talked about here. I promised to update y'all about whatever happens; okay, so here is the update from that. I met and talked with my friend as agreed. We started gisting as usually and i was lucky enough to get a great opportunity to bring up the subject. He made a mistake and i actually corrected him, after which i was able to bring up the issue. I told him about how i have noticed this for quite a while n have been thinking about talking to him concerning it cos i believe he could make some changes that will be to his benefit. I explain to him that i wasn't trying to ridicule him in any way, rather, i am trying to help him. To my surprise, he didn't get angry about it nor took it as an insult. He actually thanked me and said that no one has ever been able to talk to him about it. We finally agreed on him taking some Internet courses which we both thought might help and so far, he seem dedicated to helping himself grow n making the necessary changes. I come around to help him whenever am less busy and it seems like he's getting some work done........... On that note, thanks to blogsville for their moral support n y'allz ever-ready to listen ears.

It sure seem like everything always have a way of working itself out at the end of the day. I am tired o, there are so much thoughts in my head........i guess i will continue this later.

Hope everyone is doing great.......sorry for my temporary absence. I have been very busy with school work n life in general. I have three research papers to write before final exams start n f/exams are fast approaching too.

Finals starts the first week in may, i should be done by the 13th of may n grad is on the 16th of may. I have picked up my gown n cap and am getting a lil bit overwhelmed, excited n anxious whenever i think about it.

Trying to get all my assignments, projects n paper turned in as soon as possible as just not been so fun for me. I also have a presentation this week, all faculty members in my department will be in attendance and it's open to public audience as well; but it's so funny that am actually not so nervous about it. I have everything prepared already n am seriously praying about it.......i pray it's gon be great.

Happy Birthday to my Big Brother. Wish you many great n fulfilled years to come n May you continue to be a blessing to all that you come in contact with. May the lord continue to Strengthen you n meet u at the point of all your need.

Thanks to everyone for their comments on my last post, i really do appreciate it. So i have not told him yet... but i will see if using a joke method will work....will let y'all know how things go.

Hope y'allz week has been going great so far. Mehn!, it's been one long week, tryna get everything together n finish most of my projects before spring break. On the brighter side though, am finally on spring break, don't have to see my instructors for a week....yay!

Hope y'all already went Easter shopping cos i might just show up at your door.....yeah, it's you am talking to.....lol. Am going home today, am hoping n praying it rain so i don't loose my appetite for hot eba n vegetable soup(a very wicked one, you know the kind that has more that ten lifes).

Mehn!.....some guys can be so stupid( no personal insult intended), so much that i can't but wonder if that's the way God created them or they evolved to that level of stupidity. A couple of days ago, i heard that i have an ex-boyfriend which i didn't know about.....you see how confusing that sounds.

Ok.... on Saturday, i was in school working on one of my projects when i got a call from a naija guy who use to be in my school(lets call him homeboy~ we ain't that cool tho). We got talking and homeboy asked me if i was going for another ex-school mates' graduation. This i what the conversation was like

Homeboy: Hey, are you going for A**hole graduation?

Me: Nah mehn!... that's too far.....are you going?

Homeboy: what?!.... why would i ?.....after all, you wey be the ex-girlfriend no dey go

Me: what?!..... what the heck did you just say?.......

Homeboy: Am i lying?

Me: what the heck are you talking about?.... me, ex-girlfriend ke..... How come?

homeboy: so, you think i don't know......

Me: i don't know what you talking about.......except if it's possible for only one person to be in a relationship........ of all people, naa a**hole me i go come date....hmmn!

Homeboy: ...... you think i don't know...... you think am a small boy or what.....keep deceiving yourself....anyways, i will talk to you later.

Homeboy hang up with so much anger before i could even say "ha".

See me see wahala..... which kain yamayama be this. To think this was the end of my nightmare was a lie....On Monday, i was at work(on campus) surfing facebook when one idiot Asian boy walked into my office to make photocopies. The boy wouldn't mind his business as he continue poking his head to see what i was doing on the computer..... then he saw an update with A**hole picture, the boy said "is that not you ex-boyfriend?"......i looked at him shocked n confused thinking where the heck is all these coming from. Even an Asian boy has the guts to tell me who my supposedly ex-boyfriend is.

Wow.....wonders shall never seize on planet earth. A**hole was a guy that came to my school(fresh from naija) two years ago. he spent a semester in my school before transferring to another school. At the beginning of the semester a**hole was TRYING to yarn dust in my ears. I noticed he was acting unnecessarily nice(which i never encouraged a bit) and i sense he was up to no good. So i immediately gave him a F**K OFF sign. I stopped talking to him (even tho he tried to start conversations with me several times which i never responded to) till the end of the semester when he was about to leave the school. We came across each other somewhere on campus n he told me he was leaving(which i already knew about) and i said my bye.

(Fast forward to 2yrs after) Am hearing that the boy is my ex....Naa so people they get ex; at least you have to be a boyfriend first before you can become an ex. I got pissed off cos i didn't like things like this messing with my rep n besides, i was getting worried (you never can be too sure who n where it started from)....to actually think that an Asian knows even before i knew is an insult. So i decided to find out what was going on.....

I called homeboy who started the drama to ask him what the deal is. He told me that A**hole told him that he supposedly dated me n was suppose to have sex ,with me if not for the fact that he left school after his first semester n all sorta crap (but what he didn't tell me was that they have both been broadcasting it cos the Asian boy said homeboy told him about it). I couldn't believe they have been going around saying all kind of stuff about me n to think i have been giving them the respect deserving of an human being not knowing they are both animals....is really messed up. I didn't even bother wasting my time trying to talk to A**hole and neither am talking to homeboy anymore, am just waiting for either of them to call me.....then they will regret the day they first saw me....that's why people like them never go too far in life.

Interesting!.... was all i could say. Come on now, how desperate can a guy be. Even if i was suppose to date someone.... it won't be an ugly orangutan like him ( i 4 put his pic here so everyone can see the beast am talking about, but i won't).....What does guys tend to gain from bragging n saying things that ain't true......Whoever knows people like this needs to tell them that bragging about things that never happened won't earn them any respect....

I have tagged their number as one of my "never pick"..... Homeboy has been calling me for the past two day but i refuse to answer his phone call, and am waiting for the beast to call me again, if they born am well, then i will show him that khaki no be leather. Blogville, plenty wah! dey happen for this world o...

Would He Appreciate The Best (worst) part of Being Best Friends Long Post

OMG!.... Am feeling really sleepy but i can't cos i just woke up not too long ago. Its' raining heavily and i feel like eating some hot eba n vegetable soup with bush meat but since i leave in the school dorm.... i don't have the luxury of cooking all of that..... I hope my craving for naija food don't expire before i go home next Friday cos i don't have them too often.

So how have y'all been? ...... i have been good, trust me, i haven't done anything i won't do......lol. Ok, to the real deal...... Am sure we all have best friends at a point or the other in life...... I haven't been famous for having the "so-cool" best friends......cos for the longest i could remember, my grandpa was my best friend.... we hung out together and did a lot of things together n i pray God spare his life till after i get married n start having kids...(in short for a long time to come), then my younger brother joined the list of my best friends....cos we grew up together so we were very close n share a lot of things.... so you see, i have never really had a best friend that is not my family member till my senior high school years.....

(Fast forward to senior high school years) I kinda became a bit more famous in school n my reputation boomed (at least, in my mind), so i met some cool people which i claimed to be best friends with till we graduated n everyone scattered........

I have a lot of acquaintance, some friends, few close friends(family members God gave me through other parents), and a limited number of best friends. .......yes, limited number of best friends....... Few is plenty they say abi...... am just not a fan of having too many best friends(having too many of them brings confusion).

(What is all the ranting about... you are probably asking by now)..... Am an individual who says it the way i see it......right or wrong, i tell it how i see it, at least to my family, best friends n close friends. I realize we all have feeling and i try my best not to sound like an a** when expressing the way i feel; besides, i always wait for the right time to let the other person know how i feel.

I believe that before i can claim to be close friends with people........ the relationship between us should have pass the stage of "telling each other what the other person wants to hear". I appreciate it when people tell me the truth rather than telling me what they feel like i want to hear, it may hurt for a second(OK. maybe longer than that) but i appreciate it more n i respect the person more for doing that. I know "truth is bitter" they say n not everyone can handle the truth. But there comes a stage when you can't keep lying to people or trying to avoid hurting their feelings.

So here lies the problem am having......... I have a best friend, HE (pls, consider his ego n self confidence when giving advice) and i met back in high school; Then we were just "hi-hi" friends, but we kept in touch after graduation. Our relationship has grown since then and we consider each other as best friends...... It has grown to a stage where he knows things that no one else knows about me n vice versa.

He is a very brilliant person.....(by that i mean A's student, maybe a couple of B's), very intelligent n wise, quiet, shy n reserved (don't say too much kinda person and not very social), a little bit insecure (cos of his background n drama that occur during his growing up years), Quite God fearing, honest, loyal n very much of a gentleman. Lest i forget, he is in naija.

BUT, he has some rough edges. The problem is that as brilliant as my friend is, he has some challenges with English. I didn't get to realize this till recently as he is very well spoken (at least can speak good English to save his life n relate with people cordially). Considering that i have been broke lately n can't keep up with calling naija like i use to do..... we resulted to using e-mails n chats to keep in touch. I have realized that he has some challenges with spelling and the proper use of tenses (in short, his English is not as polished).

Am not trying to be judgemental nor act perfect (am perfectly flawed myself). I understand that individuals' ability to speak good English can be affected by the environment they grow up in or by their background and i also believe that everyone has a chance to improve if they put effort into it. His parents are a bit educated (don't know if they have bachelor's but am sure they have more than high school education) n i guess they must value the importance of education cos they ensure their children attend one of the best schools in naija.

He makes errors such as Writing TRUE instead of THROUGH, or using KNEW where he's suppose to use KNOW and others i can't remember now (maybe i should say am trying not to remember cos then i might not be able to look pass them); And no, it's not a mistake cos this happens all the time. His English is not bad but it has some rough edges.

(OK to the ~ish) like i said, am not trying to judge nor make him feel less of a person. Rather, the opposite is the case. Am just trying to help him. I have been thinking about talking to him about it n probably make a suggestion that he start studying the dictionary (if that will help).

I don't know how he will feel or react to this.....remember, telling him can either bring us closer or tear us apart...... Considering all i have written about him(above), i will rather keep him as a best friend (and hope to God that i can overlook this flaw of his over time) than loose his friendship.

when giving advice please, consider the following:

I would love to be honest with him (i mean tell him about it) cos i would expect him to do the same for me (am not sure how i would react if it was me; i might not like it at first but am sure i will appreciate his honesty and respect him more since it's with a good intention). Besides, am sure most people won't talk to him about it....at least some might have noticed it in the past n kept quiet.
He is a guy...... i don't want to mess with his self-confidence/ego (Also remember that he has been through a lot of stuff n is just learning to accept and love himself for who he is).
He is very brilliant (A's science student; and i can testify to that) regardless of his challenges with English.
He is a great person, and friend (very nice, considerate, God fearing, quiet, honest).
My friendship with him is very important to me and at stake
For a brilliant and intelligent person like him, i don't want this to affect him professionally (cos he has great dreams)
I am human.....so i have flaws too, and am not embarrassed to say to the world that he's my best friend.

Please Help!!!

What do you think? Do you think i should talk to him about it (and hope he realize am trying to help and not embarrass him) or should i just keep quiet about it (and continue to overlook it). What is your take on this. If you think i should talk to him about it, what suggestions do you have about how we can go about making changes. Hello my people, it's been a min~. how was y'allz week..... guess you are already in the weekend mood. Am so glad it's friday, these days there is something about fridays that excite me ...guess it's the anticipation of the weekend or something.This weekend is gon be a busy one for me.... a lot of studying to do and a bunch of other things to work on ....

Yay! Spring has officially began......
Am looking forward to rocking some colorful chic dresses n packing away those thick jackets.
Am looking forward to the summer, am already training for my race n getting toned. Working out sure feel good in the evening without the harsh cold weather.
Am looking forward to changing my hairstyle n cleaning out my closet.....hopefully i will be able to make out some time for that.
Am looking forward to packing some of the stuffs i no longer need in school so i can take them home as we have to vacate the school dorm a couple of days after finals.
Am looking forward to doing more outdoors activities.
Am looking forward to the beautiful scenery spring brings.... the flowers n greener lawns

BUSINESS UPDATES!

Hi everyone,

How is y'allz week going? Mine has been ok so far . The weather is beginning to change, it's getting warmer which i don't think am too excited about..... don't think am ready for the summer heat. Also, My legs are so sore from running; am trying to get ready for a race i have scheduled in April....... wish me good luck.

On the post i wrote seeking y'allz opinion on which logo to use for my business, a lot of people asked me what the business was about. So , i suppose writing a posts about that would be appropriate. Like i said, i would be doing a couple of things and i believe that the business will evolve with time.

Am starting the business with an apparel company, a personalized designing firm and a sales outlet. The apparel company will include a casual line and a couture line. The casual line will be designing and making t-shirts, polo, tank tops, jeans, classy tops, shorts n all sort while the couture line will be making corporate and evening wears.

The personalized designing firm will be involved in designing and producing personalized materials such as gifts, calendars, cards, posters n co. The sales outlet will be selling various items such as clothing, shoes, bags, jewelries and fragrance. The sales outlet will start as an online venture but i intend to have a store later on (Definitely in Nigeria n hopefully in Yankee as well). I intend to have a couple of sales representatives in various locations to help market the goods to customers.

The casual apparel line and the sales outlet will be made available first and others products n services will surely follow. Am working on having a "fall collection" ready for the couture line but we will see how far i get with that ..... but by the grace of God I will surely have a "spring collection" available for next year.

With time, i intend to nurture my business into something great and i believe the business will evolve with it's growth. I will surely let y'all know when the apparels and other products are ready and where you can get them; n the website as well.

I have finally decided on which logo to use as the official company logo.

This logo is one of my faves n it got the highest votes. Thanks to everyone who contributed to the selection process, really appreciate it.

Hi everyone,

How was your weekend and how is your week going? My weekend was alright..... had my sister from another mother over and we went to watch "Madea goes to jail". The movie was alright, funny but nothing really out of the ordinary. Today has been a bit too busy but i hope it gets better as the week proceed.

The thoughts of having an exam in my boring anthology class ain't helping the way am feeling right now and to think i broke a nail while at work is annoying. Am mad at my boss. Ok, maybe not really but at least some a"no-vex cash" will do for my broken nail. So i have an on-campus job which pays my bills but that should be the last place i will get my beautiful nail broken.
Am thinking about going for a friend's graduation party this Saturday but i am not sure how possible that will be ............

Come to think of it, i might just have the broken nail clipped and still keep it on but its definitely gon look weird in a way.....So, am asking y'all who do i sue for my "no-vex cash", my boss or my school afterall, they say "there is always someone you can sue in America"; cos i think i deserve a form of compensation. At least if they can't give me my "no-vex cash", i can managed a paid manicure or pedicure, some paid-hours off or better still paid-days off.

UPDATE ON MY PROJECT......OPINION NEEDED!!!

Hi people,

How is y'allz week going? Mine has been great so far, I had a three-day holiday from school for Mardi Gras so i was at home monday through wednesday but am back to school now... it sucks, don't know why they couldn't give us the whole week off. On the brighter side though, that has given me some time to work on my business, I 've finally decided on the new name am going to use. I have decided to use "Damosville" as the company name. I am currently working on the logo n setting up the website. I am so excited.... n hopeful in God that everything will work out great in the end. Ok, enough said about that.

I would appreciate it if y'all can help in deciding the logo to use. I have a couple of logo's which i think are creative n beautiful but am not yet sure which one to use. Since i will be using just a single name for every project i venture into and i intend on doing a bunch of projects which are not so related, i thought using a logo that is neutral/can go with anything will be the best.

Below are the logo designs i came up with for the business........ pls take a look and rate them in your order of preference or let me know the one you love the most. (NB. the colors to be used haven't been decided on yet, so there is tendency that the colors used in the sample might not be the final color. Also, the picture might not seem as clear as it really is because i had to take pictures with my phone as blogger refused to let me upload directly from the format i have them in.)

Wow! it's been age's since i blogged...... i really feel ashamed ...for my long absence. I never intended to abandon my blog like that but life has been very busy for me . Most of you know that i will be graduating in may (exactly three months from today)..... so i have been working on a lot of things... trying to prepare myself for whatz gon come after graduation.

I have been applying for all sort of jobs but as per the economic situation n all.... am yet to get something. Hopefully, by God's grace , i will surely get something soon....

Since am yet to get a job and i have a year or so to figure out how am gon pay for my medical school education........ am kinda thinking n working on going back to school for my Master's.....so guess what, i have been applying to a bunch of grad school which is one of the reasons why i have been busy. Pls, join me in prayers on this..... i know it's only God that can help me sort everything out.

Am working on re-branding my own business....... over the years, i have lapsed in my commitment towards the growth of the little business i can call my own which am not so happy about. So since, am gon be done with the busy life of being an undergraduate, i have decided this will be the right time to get back to business. Also, i have been praying about it n the new line of business am venturing into...... and am sure God is by my side. (Also, i will love to thank my blog sister....YNC, who has alwayz encouraged me to keep going even when things don't seem to be coming together yet.....you might not realize this but reading your blog has reinforce the fact that i can do anything; I will also love to thank everyone else, you all have been so good to me.....n i truly appreciate y'all)

My semester is going great though very stressful cos i have three ongoing research classes am taking but i will definitely make it through.

Valz day was ok.... i actually did mine on friday...... weird!, i hear you say, right? .....That's cos i had an exam on valz day and one of my two close girlfriends has a boyfriend n we didn't wanna mess up his plans, so we decided to celebrate on friday. On friday, we went to get some nice food, after which we went for a nice pedicure n manicure before hitting the mall. We then ended the day by going to the movies. We watched "Friday, 13th febuary".....which wasn't too bad..... so i guess my valz day was great. How was y'all valz day.... hope y'all had an awesome day....

hi y'all.....

know it been a while since i wrote a post.....but y'all will have to bear with me......been so preoccupied with school, work, registering and re-branding my business, keeping up with "mine", being there for a couple of friends going through hard times, n dealing with other responsibilities.

There is so much i need to get out of my head but can't really do that till after finals..... Finals start this thursday and ends next thursday.....so hopefully if am not too tired i will certainly blog on friday.

I will be needing some help, suggestions and contributions from y'all a long the line on a lot of stuffs am working on. I know i haven't said anything about my business in the past; don't know why but i guess there hasn't been a need for it n besides it was sorta still in the experimenting stage, but now that i have decided to step things up, re-brand, and incorporate other things am working on......it's time to move one to greater level......

Also, i guess people following this blog would have picked up some hints or sense that i did went through a "phase of confusion" this year.....but God has been more than graceful and merciful unto me n his working out his ways in my life.

Finally, the change everyone (OK, maybe not everyone, at least most) has been looking forward to is finally here......Yesterday night was very emotional....with tears flowing down my cheeks and my heart rejoicing, it was reaffirmed in me that truly dreams do come true and that i can do "anything and everything" through hard work, perseverance and faith in myself.

The season of revolution has finally come..... the world will experience a new thing having black people as the president, first lady, and the first family of the united states....

Here is a mail a close friend of mine in Nigeria sent to me this morning....just so you could have an idea of how the world feels.....

its been a long time coming, and finally change has come to not only to America,but change has come to the world. I was so ecstatic that i couldn't sleep on time i still have head aches as a result of this historic event.

I think i have the obamania syndrome, a disease that started with my uncle and later i realized we were not the only carriers as fast foods here in naija made a lot of profit from a special recipe called Obama; Obama t-shirts, Obama stickers etc were selling in their thousands .I can recall from the first time we chatted about this, we had a discussion over this issue, i remembered asking if America was ready for its first black president...... but this is not a black thing, Obama is an icon that represents the American dream, an icon that affirms the possibility of getting to the destination even in the face of the greatest odds.

For me his 'yes we can' phrase will inspire millions of minority across the world. He is the most valued asset of the world at the moment. ........ and "YES WE WILL" "

And i surely believe that "YES WE WILL" surely.

OK, Halloween was great, You wouldn't believe what happened (OK, maybe you will since Obama has set a new record). I was given the ''Best Female Costume" Award and a Skull......It was the last thing i was expecting because my costume was not typical......I dressed like a "Fela Anikulapo Kuti dancer"....... Rocked some Adire (tie& dye) old school kinda pants and wore a Afro wig.........

Ok, so am not a firm believer in halloween but i have decided to dress up this year as it is my last year as an undergraduate n all that sort. I haven't decided what to dress like tonight but i surely will dress up. Will probably post a picture of my custume later......

Hope y'all in the western world have been protecting yourself from the cold.... as a lot of people has been getting sick from it. By the way, does anyone knows what i can use for my skin....... Am having skin irritation to hard water....my face, upper back, and arms are having small blister-like bumps and its leaving dark spots on my skin which is making me upset. Don't want anything messing up my dark caramel skin and to think of the fact that everyone always complement my skin. Even my boss told me to do something about it cos its becoming obvious when you move closer n I have tried everything i could think of. I went by to see the doctor this morning but he was only able to give me some antibiotics ......He said i should come back if i see no changes....... I hope it works tho.

On a more serious note, I have a quick question to ask o...... IS THERE ANYTHING BAD IN CHANGING HAIRSTYLE REGULARLY OR HOW LONG IS ONE SUPPOSED TO WAIT BEFORE CHANGING ONE'S HAIRSTYLE..... cos it seems as if everyone in school haven't had so much do lately which gave them enuf time to be monitoring me..... or....., i don't know. This is because lately everyone seems to be talking about my hair. Several people today have made statements like"you 've changed ur hair again.... u change ur hair every two days", "OMG! pls, don't change ur hair again.....else~", "you 've gat a new hair do..." n all sort....

I don't know if it's cos the hair style i have been having lately are very different from each other cos am 99% sure i don't change my hair too often.....Ok, for instance, at the beginning of the semester i had a short weave on (naija razor cut kinda) which i carried for like six weeks, then i did some basket weaving which lasted three weeks, then i did twisting with my natural hair which i carried for three weeks, then i carried my natural afro for one week (which by the way.... a lot of people loved and admire), and now i have a neck-lenght bulb weave on which i did on wednesday night (to protect my hair from the harshness of the weather n besides my 'fro takes a lot of effort to take care of ). So, i really don't know why people are saying that i change my hair too often......So, what do y'all think....guys opinions will be appreciated as well....... HOW OFTEN IS "TOO OFTEN" TO CHANGE ONE'S HAIR & IS ANYTHING BAD ABOUT CHANGING ONE'S HAIRSTYLE OFTEN.........

Big Congratulation to Lola Omotayo and Peter Okoye who welcomed their first child/son early on the 22nd of september in San Francisco, California. It has been confirmed that both the mother and the baby are doing great. The child was name "Cameron" on the 29th of this month as well. Am really happy for them......bet the child is sure gon be so cute. May this child be a blessing unto all who encounter him and may the good lord continue to shower his blessing upon y'all. Wish them all the very best and all the wonderful joy & blessings that comes with a baby even in the years to come.

STRIVING FOR GREATNESS.

How is everyone doing? How was y'all z weekend, hope y'all had a great one like i did. I partied all weekend long....being away from school and among Nigerians ... that kinda seem like the best thing to do. Besides, i haven't really partied naija style since i 've been in Yankee. I had so much fun and made some great new friends.

Ok, to the real deal. GREATNESS!..... is one of the things we all aspire for, but to be honest most folks don't realize how far they are moving way from the lane of greatness. Hanging with various Nigerians over the weekend kinda brought my attention to the fact that many people dream big but just aren't doing the right things to achieve the dreams and goals they have set for themselves.

Waking up everyday, i ask my self "What can I do today to be a better person than that of yesterday?" I ensure i start my day with a "I can do..." and a "I can't wait to do...” mind frame hoping i will be able to achieve something greater than i have done thus far.

I try to arouses my inner sense of “greatness” by setting positive goals to attain and asking God for help. It makes me want to do more than what I am currently doing. Most often it stimulates me to think about doing things for other people, rather than just for myself.

Am not only thinking about doing something great but accomplishing greatness. There surely is a very fine line between doing something great and accomplishing greatness. Motivation of self is an important key to cross the line between doing something great and accomplishing greatness.

Everyone can dream big, but not everyone takes those dreams and makes them a reality. Considering that everyone has the ability to dream, i believe that everyone has the ability to become great and achieve greatness.

It is always very easy for one to have a dream and then give up on it because they think it is too lofty. I encourage y'all not only to dream but to carry it through to fulfillment because God definitely rewards hard work, perseverance, and courage.

Like they say, the future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams.
Hope y'all will take a step towards greatness and live up your dreams.

EXCITEMENT IS IN THE AIR.

How is everyone doing? Hope y'all are having a great weekend......cos mine has been wonderful so far......As you have probably guessed, am very excited and grateful to God.......just thinking about my life and everything associated with my life.....i can't help but get excited about how wonderful God is.

Ok...to testify to the greatness of God in my life and family & to let yah know about some of the things making me excited......

~My family made it safely through Hurricane Gustav (even though it wasn't as bad as Katrina and Rita of three years ago; and believe we will make it through Ike and josephine as well).
~I did one of the three professional exams i have scheduled before the end of this year and passes excellently (Am sure G0d has done the remaining two which i will be having in October).
~It has been confirmed that i will be graduating next spring(c0s of the exam mention above).
~Yours truly is testifying that even though things are tough...God keeps working in her favor.
~My semester is going great so far and is very promising.
~My aunt and her family bought a bigger new house in Canada and are almost done building their house in naija as well.
~Am seeing improvements in the areas of my life that i asked God to help with.
~Am seeing growth and improvements in my relationship with God.
~The relationship among my family members (especially with our dad) has improved for the better and stronger than ever (This is surely a miracle).
~God's revelation of greater plans for my life and family is beginning to attain fulfillment.
~I have triumph over my past.

Overall, God's greatness is manifesting in my life, my family, and our ways. Thanks you God......Forever your name shall be glorified......In our soul you shall forever live.

Am loving life and enjoying the love and grace of God around me. Am happy beyond measure and so thankful. Have been listening to great music and feeling like dancing. Am so excited i feel like jumping and declaring to the whole world how wonderful God is. Everyone close to me notices the excitement in my spirit cos people have been asking why am so happy even though i haven't been able to give them a specific anwser.

Your faithfully has been busy studying for the tests i have coming up next week and with some assignments. Am about to go have some well-deserved nice time as well. Am about to hit the cinema and go have a great time afterwards with some wonderful friends.

To those looking unto God for somethings or in any way troubled by the strive for survival or life.....Know that God hasn't forgotten you and is working on your behalf.....Let him take total control and he will surely suprise you beyond expectation.....and remeber that you are not alone.......

Family is a very important thing in life. A great one surely makes all the difference in one's life and gives one the confidence to climb any mountain. Today, i am glad to say i couldn't have made it these far without my family and most definitely God. The journey for me and my family has not in any way been all smooth but in all ways, we have been able to stick together has a family and make it through.

I can proudly say that am happy with the way God has brought us through every stage of life, taught us various important lessons & still teaching us, prepared us for the great future we have ahead, and above all, kept us together.

By the grace of God, we have been able to stay family through rain and sunshine. We have fought, smiled, cried, celebrated and shared the gift of life together. Even now that we are far away from each other, we still find and make use of every opportunity to get in touch and connect. Every moment spent in each others presence is always memorable. Y'all have been a source of courage, love, strenght, motivation, happiness, inspiration, guidance, comfort, and blessing to me.

I will forever thank God for giving you to me as a gift..... you will forever be the best gift i received.

Blogsville family, y'all has been so wonderful as well and i believe my encounter with y'all was destined by God. I have met so many great folks here and cherish every moment i have spent here. Thanks y'all for being there always.

SELF-DISCOVERY, PROUD OF NAIJA.

Aw una dey my ppl, .....i just dey o. Been crawling around from one blog to another but i haven't had any jolly thing to write about or maybe i should say i have so much going on in my life that i really don't know where to start writing nor how.

Ok, so i have been very confused lately.......been thinking about a lot....just normal daily stuffs.... Am kinda loosing it..... am feeling like i lost my identity to the chase of survival....am loosing the drive and motivation i use to posses toward things i use to be passionate about. I need to make future career decision but am very scared of making mistakes and getting stuck with some kinda of miserable career. Am in search of inspiration...and some blogs have been very helpful but i just can't pull together my inner strenght inorder to make use of the motivation and inspiration around me.

Deep within me, i kinda know that all i have to do is to listen to my own advice and stand up for what i want...... but am so confused i can't say exactly what i want.....i have ideas/bits of what i want but can't stand up and say this is exactly what i want. Or is it that i want so much that i find it difficult to make a choice.... wish i could customize exactly what i want... in my life, in the man i love, in the career choice i make, and in aspects of life. At the same time i realise i can't have it all in life... some i will get and some i have to do without....but i just can't fanthom the fact that i can't have it the exact way i think it will be best(know God's plans and ways are always different from ours; and sometimes what we want isn't the best for us).

I have done much thinking that everytime these stuffs come to mind, i can't help but immediately push it to the back of my head. Am even tired of thinking about it..... i feel like breaking away from every thing so i can have a fresh start...but am worried some folks i care deeply about (family members and friends included) might get hurt.....

Am praying real hard for God to come to my rescuse.....but am kinda not really helping myself.... i need to be totally honest with myself, decide what i want and not settle for anything short of it....okay, its easier to write abi, doing it is the killer.....

Decided, a step at a time... i will break away from it all, trying my best not to hurt too much ppl....hope this works....... am despirately looking for me, scared i might not find the real me anymore, scared i might make mistakes i will possibly regret....

I now truely believe the saying that one might actually be self's greatest enemy.......

In all, i guess am just a scared girl in search of her true self.

BTW, all the soccer fans, hope y'all watch the olympics male soccer finals match between naija and argentina......... naija lost to argentina, even tho it was a silly mistaken on the part of the naijas that was used against us......... so , we came second..... am proud of them even thou we didn't get the gold.....can you imagine, I was so patriotic that i broke a nail while cheering for naija.......overall, naija is trying even thou they are yet to win any gold medal.... am proud of the fact that they made it to the olmpics and of the few silver and bronze medals they have won.

This post is dedicated to my very good friend "George Mutai" and his cousin "Julius Kosgie"

We met on a divine day,

With a big smile we hugged and welcomed each other into our life's,

Since then we 've took each other as siblings,

Been through thick and thin together,

Laughed and cried together,

Gone through the roller coaster of life together,

Experienced most days of winter, spring, summer, Autumn, and fall together,

The memories of the times we have spent together kills me,

All because you left without saying bye,

Its so difficult to think of how you 've left me, your families, and your other friends behind,

Moving on to a place where eternal peace is,

Am really gonna miss you,

Meeting you as taught me how to leave my worries behind and still enjoy every moment of my living,

With tears rolling down my cheeks, i wrote this for you,

A part of me you 've been and have taken with you,

Am really hoping that you leaving me in person will not mean leaving me forever,

And hoping we see each other again someday in heaven,

Till then; Rest in the bossom of the lord,

This post is dedicated to the memory of a very good friend and brother who lost his life in a car accident at the junction of highways 81 and 91 in Nebraska on monday, 4th of august, 2008 at the age of 27 (1981 - 2008) and his cousin, julius kosgie who also lost his life at the age of 31 as well.

George and julius both spent their last days with their families in minneosta before they anwsered the call from heaven at iowa, nebraska while heading to oklahoma......how unpredictable life is. George at 27 had completed masters in electric engneering at Mcneese State University in lake charles, Louisiana. and Julius was suppose to graduate next year in businesss management at a college in concordia, kansas. Tears have not stopped flowing and it was really hard to talk about them in past tense. Their uncles, cousins, friends, and especially nephews and nieces who spent most of Sunday 8/3/2008 with George and julius are very devastated.

I guess God has plans for everyone. May God grant everyone they left behind the grace to bear the loss and may he comfort their family. I feel so sorry for their family and friends for the loss of these young, God-fearing, caring, intelligent, and great kenyan brothers.

Arrangements to transport their corpse back to Kenya for burial are being made. The cost of their transportation is very expensive and any amount of assistance - financial or otherwise is welcome. We all will miss you guys...

Today marks the beginning of another year for me on planet earth. I must admit that i couldn't have made it this far if not for God who has always been there for me to call upon. The journey for me has not been in any way close to perfect but amidst all that has happened i still have more than enough reason to thank God for the life that i have lived and every cause to be certain and believing that the future will be greater than my imagination.

Today adds a year to my age, can't believe that i have actually spent this much years on earth but hey, who cares when i still hope and intend to spend 101 more years alive. Am very happy to be alive today and can proudly say that my being alive today is nothing short of a miracle. God has been very amazing. He has shown me that his love for me is unchanging and forever even when i didn't love me.

Okay, back to the main gist. 9ice and his girlfriend finally got married on thursday, 17th of july 2008 at the surulere registry and had their engagement party afterwards. Here are some of the pictures from the wedding.

They were both looking very beautiful and i love Toni's dress.

Moving on, the third mainland bridge in Lagos will be closed on the 2nd of august due to some technical faults that has been detected. Thank God the government is doing something to prevent a disaster from happening. I also hope the closure don't cause too much inconveniences for lagosians.

How has everyone been? Great i do hope. Ok, i don't really feel like blogging. I don't know why writing a post has been a bit uneasy for me recently.... am kinda enjoying reading other people's blog than writing a post....besides 've been seriously bored outta of my mind. Nywayz, enuf of my ranting.

Naija's own 9ICE is really heading for greater heights. I was stunned watching his performance at the mandela's concert. It was very beautiful. The very first thing that came to my mind while watching the video on youtube was that "this guy is indeed going to bring home grammy someday". The performance was very graceful and its surely revealed his growth as an artist.

For y'all in the US, the Mandela concert is currently showing on VH1......Am hoping to watch 9ice performance myself.

OK y'all, that's it for me..... Back to watching the mandela concert....Mandela is giving his speech now and i can see 9ice standing behind him.... He's looking fly, Toni payne is doing a great JOB..... By the way, will and Jada Smith are really cute couples.... Am loving them all the way.

Am back, trying to write a post but i can't.
I just can't cos

~~Been away from home all weekend long,
~~Am experiencing a black out,
~~Am having a serious Headache,
~~I have too much on my mind and don't know how nor where to start from; been deeply in thought for the past one week than i have been in the past six months combined.
~~I have a decision that will affect the rest of my life and my happiness to make; i have a choice to make between what i like & already have but seems bad for me and what i like & do not totally have(Tho i can fully make it mine anytime i want) but surely seems to be very good for me(can't have both); don't know which one to choose even though am already getting my mind made up about the whole situation; which one am i going to choose without making a mistake that i will regret.
~~God, i hope my gut feelings are not wrong ooo,
~~Am trying not to think about what am going to do next year; i have so many choices in front of me but i don't know which one is the best for me; am trying not to worry about it but its not working.

Looking back, it all seems like yesterday when we use to play "hide and see" together.
We use to chase each other around the house and get punished by mum together,
We went through thick and thin together,
We have cried and rejoiced together, and
We have seen each other's at worse moments before.
Everyone knew us and called us "partners in crime" cos of the bond between us, but we never did mind them.
Even when i left the shores of Nigeria, i was still been called upon to speak to you as it seems like i was the only one you did listen to.
Even with the distance, our relationship never changed; though you had a girl you liked so much that you never told me about but i did find out later and some other things you did that i didn't know about(LOL);
It all still doesn't matter to me as long as i still have you to call my brother.
You have been there for me when no one but God was there.
Since you move to US to join the rest of the crew, the experience has been wonderful;
To have an old friend and a brother who will give the world to make me happy, is so divine.
I will definitely not take a world from you but the little you give, i really do appreciate.

GREAT INSPIRATIONS - 1

Hi everyone, how was y'allz weekend? Mine was refreshing, spent most of the weekend sleeping, listening to great music, watching movies and catching up with my family in naija.

Ok, i have decided to start writing post about people that i find inspiring in any way. A lot of people focus on the action of people as a source of inspiration forgetting that words said by unexpected people can sometimes be more inspiring.These posts will basically focus on the little things people do on a day to day basis that can serve as a source of inspiration to someone and possibly me.
The first G.I is USHER - this is not because he is~~~ but because he has been making some statements since he came back into "public eye"/release of his new album and i think he deserves to be mentioned here.

USHER has always been one of my favorite artist and am totally loving his latest album. I love the idea of "the revolution" he went through after getting married. I will definitely suggest that "the revolution" idea is a great one that not just guys but females as well need to realise has to occur before getting married in order to ensure the success of their marriage. Am so happy for him, he's working hard to keep his family together.

He once said during one of his interviews on MTV that "the greatest gift a man can give a woman is TOTAL COMMITMENT ~ which he defined as the act or quality of voluntarily taking on or fulfilling all obligations; and that the greatest gift a woman can give a man is A CHILD". I was very impressed by this, its been a while since i heard any man say something close to this(Maybe, i haven't been interacting with the right ones).

As i was saying he claims that the idea of "the revolution" is basically growing up from being a boy to being a man and accepting every responsibilities that comes with it even when you have to make great sacrifices.

This is a fact that most men and women find very challenging to accept. I mean, there is a difference between getting married and being married. This is not just a problem face by men as many women face the same. Having to sacrifice your total independence, having to do things for your partner even though you are not getting paid for it, having your "other" in your personal bubble when all you want is to be alone and other things like that. When the family entails of only two individuals with differences, its kinda ok, but now imagine when the issues of kids comes into the picture, the whole idea can sometimes become a nightmare for couples who are not prepared for it. So I thought it was a great idea for Usher to make an effort to help people realise that being married comes with a lot of sacrifices especially when you are used to living a different lifestyle.

The Quirks:

1. Dictionary: I don't really know whatz up with the dictionary but i gatto have it in a very close proximity to me. It's kinda like my second bible now, There is a permanent one on my bed-side drawer and on top of it is my bible. i have always done this no matter where am at, in the school dorms or in my house, there is always a dictionary close to my bed or on my bed. Don't really know why, but am thinking it might have been because of an incident that happened way back in primary school. I had a very strict proprietor who usually comes around to teach us English whenever our teacher is absent from school and in is class, everyone MUST have a specific dictionary else you will be punished. I was punished a couple of times before i got mum to buy me the dictionary and i guess since then, i have been made to believe that a dictionary is a must have in life that am now addicted to having one almost everywhere i go.

2. Organized: Most people might say am too/very organize but i really don't think so(maybe a lil bit). Am so organized, that i can tell you the exact position or place that most of my things are without thinking twice about it and 99.99% of the time, am gon be right about it. I like my things to be in a particular order, i don't keep other people stuffs together with mine, even during exams when everyone don't have time to organize their room nor lay their bed, i always make out time to organize my room. I usually feel stuffed up or choked when am in a disorganized environment and the funny thing about this is that most of my friends in college are just way too disorganized that i have to move things around when i go to their rooms.

3. Water: Am deeply in love with water, drink a lot of it, Obsessed with washing my hands almost after every little thing i use them for, and takes as many shower as possible in a day. I can go on for more than three days without food but can't do more than three hours without water. I love taking shower, it makes me feel relaxed and even helps me ease off when am worried, angry or sad about something. I took so many shower in the last two years of my high school that one of my aunties in Lagos told me its a bad thing to take shower everyday of the week(how ridiculous!). Everyone was just trying to get me to stop taking too much shower in a day cos the minimum was like three times a day.

4. Boy: I use to wish i was a boy cos i thought it was just too easy being a guy(they never have to worry about anything) till i realized how difficult or how much insult a guy can get from approaching a babe(reason why i will never diz nor insult a guy). Ok! bet some people are already laughing about this but its true, i can't stand the way some babes act whenever they are approached(some ppl can be nasty). I grew up among too many boys(brovas, nephew, uncles and male friends) that i lived my life as a tomboy. I did everything they do, but i never encouraged guys insulting babes either cos i realised i was still a girl no matter how much i acted like a guy. It was fun tho being a part of the guys, they got use to having me around that they treated me like am a part of them, most of friends today are still males, am still very atlethic and boyish but i have accepted my fate about being a girl and am acting and loving it now.

5. Food: Don't really chew food till it becomes very soft, i kinda swallow almost everything half way except for nuts or other kind or Hard food. My brovas have tried so hard to make me changed but i just haven't(will not say "can't" maybe i will someday). Weird! you can say that again

6. Barefoot: (almost forgot this) Will never walk barefooted even within the my house. I use to when i was very young till the day i mistakenly killed a chick(baby chicken) with my bare foot. In naija, our back door had a couple of stairs but instead of walking, we usually jump being a kid. That day, i was going to meet my mum outside and as i jumped the stairs, i landed on a chick. The chick was squashed to death and its blood was on my foot. My mum washed my foot but for almost a year, i couldn't get over the fact that i had "innocent blood" on my foot and that i killed a chick with my foot. I will always wash my foot whenever i remember and i always look at my foot in a funny way that my mum was beginning to get worried. Am pretty sure if i was in yankee then, I would have been asked to see a psychologist or something. Am over the drama now but i still can't and will never walk barefooted anywhere.

How y'all been?

Am doing great.....on vacation. Ok! before i start ranting, i need to thank God for his endless love , grace, mercy, blessing, and favor on my life and in family. God has been so faithful to me and my family since the beginning of this year. Don't really know how and where to start counting the blessings from; its just too much.... ok, am not complaining and neither do i want it to stop...... this is just so you know how good he has been to me, my entire family, and the people around me as well. "THANK YOU GOD", FOREVER YOUR PRAISE SHALL BE IN MY MOUTH AND IN MY HEART.

Ok, am excited, like my fellow students in the U.S. .....why? another final exams/semester is over. Am so happy about how the semester went and how it ended. God is faithful.

Pls, people, am looking for my phone ooo!. I received a call this morning and i thought i put my phone in my handbag afterwards......only to discover that it has disappeared. I left home with my family for our vacation this morning and we did stop at Wal-mart to get some stuffs before leaving town. Half way through the journey, we stopped at Wendy's to get something to eat cos we didn't have breakfast before leaving. While eating i felt a phone vibration on the table and decided to check if i had any missed call as i had been sleeping all along(no be my fault now, i just finished finals yesterday and i haven't had any sleep since. I got back home around9:30pm and started packing my bags for the vac immediately, so don't blame me). Ok, back to what i was saying. I picked up my bag from the sit next to me , but it was as if my eyes were seeing stars. Immediately, i checked my pocket, but my dearest phone was no where to be found. I have been calling my phone but its going directly to voice mail which means its probably off. How come, i don't know cos am very sure the battery is not dead as i charged it all night long.... so i really don't know what is going on. I have also tried to check if i had any voice messages but whenever i dial the number and put in my code,it keeps telling me "invalid code" which i know it's not true cos i do remember the correct code. Anyways, i have looked everywhere for it and haven't found it. I really pray and hope i find it cos i have a lot of data on the phone....(three years worth of data)....that's not funny.

It's all good tho, At least we had a safe journey and everyone is doing great and ready to have real fun, relax and spend memorable and precious time with the most precious people in our life.

Will definitely try to blog soon and more often.....Till then, I love y'all.

For you , the journey ended eight years ago...... Never looking back, Never to be seen again..... Our world shattered when you left without saying goodbye.

Nights after Nights, I wish i could just see you again and be held in the comfort of your embrace.

The imagination of what you look like , your smell, your attitude, your charm, your chicness, your uniqueness, your big heart, your food aroma, your belief and way of life.

Tho you have walked by the shadow of death and since never return, making me wonder why the bible said we should fear no evil when we walk through the shadow of death because thy rod and staff will comfort us; we still hold on to your love.

In our heart, memories of you lingers and it hurt so bad to know you are never coming back.

Walking through the path of this lonely journey called life without you is sometimes frustrating.

The knowledge of you not being around to see us all grow and not being able to grow in your arms kills.

I wish i could go back to a day or many days before this day eight years ago when i returned from a journey i never wanted to end, not knowing that you were just waiting to see us before you leave; Maybe i could have change things.

I wonder why you never told us at least me that you were leaving, you never said goodbye to me; could it be because you didn't wanna go or because you thought that was the best thing to do or because you didn't know how?All these are questions which will never be answered.

How do you just leave someone you love and why? Knowing they need and love you.

We needed and need you around because no one and i mean “no one” will ever be like you not to talk of being you.

A space you have left in our life empty with “no one” to fill it, promises you have made to us but never did fulfill them; the thoughts of this haunts me.

Maybe, if you had told me, maybe i could have saved you, maybe i could have prayed to God to spare your life just for my sake, maybe things would have been different......just maybe you might be here with us today.

Spite of all odds, our love for you have never died; we have missed and still missing you as if life lacks meaning without you even though we are still living.

In my heart, your special place will always be reserved as “no one” can ever fill it up.

Happy Easter to everyone,

........ so how are you celebrating it. Am pretty sure i will probably be celebrating mine in my room writing up a bunch of papers i have due soon. Is anyone making Easter eggs....one of my friends is so much looking forward to making some Easter eggs and a couple of other things.

It's been a while since i blog.... so here i am updating. I have been a bit tied down.. and i have a lot going on around me...... anyway sha..... it's all good. How has your weekend been..... guess you have probably started shopping for spring........season of colors.

OK...this years marathon season has started and am beginning to get worn out.... had a half marathon race this morning and i did better than i was expecting. i made it to the finish line in 1hour,30mins,40seconds; hope i will be able to keep it up. I haven't slept in like two days now as i had a friend over and have been busy with a bunch of other things couple with the issue of the myopic minded guy calling me every night(story for another day....probably my next one, it's kinda crazy).

My legs are kinda hurting and am body is craving for some sleep.......i guess it's time to go........OK, y'all have a great Easter and have a blessed week ahead as well......later.

THE ACT OF GIVING

Am a kind of person that don't mind giving as long as i have, even sometimes when i don't have, i don't mind going an extra mile for people........... but it baffles me sometimes as i have friends that are very different from me in this aspect n others as well. I know you might be thinking that at least we weren't born by the same parents so why do i expect them to be like me.......i don't. I realise the fact that we all have different personality and its takes much more than nothing to make our friendship and any kind of friendship work. It's just that i wonder why they are very hesitant to give, do things or make sacrifices for people when they are not getting anything back from it, yet they expect others to do all these things for them when its there turn.

I think its very selfish but they don't........ sometimes when they do things like this to other people and i begin to wonder that what will happen when its my turn...... are they going to have my back like i have always done when the time comes or are they going to act the same way........at least, i don't think there is any significant reason why they will treat me any differently as i don't believe my situation will be an exclusion...........Am getting wooooorried...... do i wanna keep friends like this around me or should i free them........... What is your take?

AMERICAN IDOL; SEASON VII, AND THE HEADLINES

American Idol Season VII
The new season of American Idol premiered on FOX channel on tuesday. It was so much fun watching it and it kept me entertained for the evening. There were a lot of ridiculous , some unbelieveably insane and quite a few talented people who showed up for the audition both at Philadelphia on tuesday and Dallas yesterday. Randy Jackson, Simon Cowell, Paula Abdul, and Ryan Seacrest were their usual self and looking good. This season is expected to be a bit different from the past seasons as a result of the recent development with some of the previous American Idol winners who were dropped by their recording label and some other reasons. The Spear's Family Drama
It really getting frustrating and ridiculous because all the TV, Radio, and the Magazines talks about is the Spear's drama. I think the media needs to cut them some slack and give them a breathing space. I really do pity and sympathize with the spear's family. The whole family is battling with individual issues. The dad is dealing with his alcohol addiction, the mum is still mourning the death of her sister who died as a result of cancer, and the teen sister is pregnant. Not to talk of Britney who is been speculated to be engaged to the paparazzi guy and pregnant again without a clue about who the father of the child might be after a showdown at the court on monday.
Anyways, i pray that the good lord will see them through this trying period of the lifes.

Socialite Nicole Richie and her rock-star boyfriend Joel Madden gave birth to a baby girl named Harlow Winter Kate Madden at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center on Friday. I hope motherhood will keep her away from Paris Hilton You can read more here.

M'n its been a while since i came by; i hope i haven't missed so much.

Trying to get back into the daily school routine has kept me away from blogland. Also trying to get my baby brova who just came from naija settled hasn't been that easy either. Had to get him registered and ensure that everything was done cos he couldn't make it here on time until after the first week of school. At least, am glad that everything is settled now and am kinda ready for the semester.

It's so much fun having him around and am so happy that we 've the opportunity to be close to each other again. I 've so much missed him, considering the fact that we grew up together when our elderly ones were all in the UNI. Anyways, thank God that he finally made it here safely.

I don't really have much to blog about cos i have been tied up with a bunch of stuffs and my life recently has been evolving around school alone.

WAKE UP CALL.

On friday one of my uncles left for Nigeria after spending fifteeen great years of his in a foreign land, thousands of miles away from the shores of our motherlan'. He left Nigeria years back with the intentions of travelling abroad for studying purposes only for him to get married and also deliver his three kids in a white man's land. Him and his wife look so much forward to going back home someday soon but it isn't that easy anymore considering the fact that they have three kids now. Relocating back to Nigeria definitely require a lot of effort and planning which they don't seems to be ready for.But he had to make a decision of going back home in order to make plans so his kids could have the opportunity to know where there real home is .

This and other things going on around me caused me to think about Nigeria and write about the problems that Nigerians at home are facing.

Over the years, Nigerian politics has totally become a deadly game played by the dirty wealthy folks in the population. Nigeria is being controlled by civilians under a democratic government. The affairs of the nation are virtually being run on the basis of individuals' personal interests. The leadership in Nigeria is not at its best which is having a lot of effects on the nation. Poor leadership has cost the nation a lot over the years and things are yet to change. Great damages have been made to the nations' economy, educational system, health system and transportation system to mention a few.

Nigerian economy has fallen drastically; the monetary system has lost its value. The economy has suffered a great extent of inflation with no adjustment made by the government. The nations' population has also increased to a great deal with no proper and efficient provision of resource made to meet the increase in population. Home-based businesses have lost their competitive power to the foreign competitors. The economy is hardly stimulated by the monetary transactions going on. The economy is expose to a great probability of collapsing as a result of its' imbalance state.

The educational system in Nigeria has almost been totally neglected. Adequate funds are not been allocated to it yearly. The budget allocations are very much inconsistent and not enough to improve the awful conditions of the educational system in Nigeria. Nigerian schools have old and obsolete resources. The schooling facilities like the libraries, laboratories, class rooms, residential halls, dinning halls, computer laboratories and others are poorly equipped and not well maintained. The schools are also over crowded and no provisions are being made for the increase in populations of students in schools.

The health sector of the nation is at the verge of failure. There are no emergency services provided to the public. The hospitals are not well-funded and the facilities are not at their best functioning because of the lack of maintenance. Health service worker are not well paid and the health sector is in great need of well trained individuals. The hospital wards and emergency rooms are over crowded. Health services are becoming too expensive for people to afford. The pharmaceutical companies are also not in the right state of functioning. Little or no research is being done in the health sector to improve old medicinal ideas or discover the new ideas to make the health section better.

The transportation system in Nigeria is very bad; the roads are not well constructed and not so fit for car use. The train system of transportation is non functional in Nigeria. The airports are not well taken care of; the planes used are old and not well taken care of either. The road laws are not in any way enforced, and neither are the agencies in charge of road transportation doing any thing about it. Nigerians are exposed to various forms of accidents by the passing of each day. A lot of precious lives are lost daily and many are made disabled without hope.

The Nigerian securities agencies are of no viable use to the public. The Nigerian police are not in anyway protecting the Nigerian citizens and their properties; rather they are putting the entire public into inevitable danger. The public are not encouraged to call upon the police nor any other security agencies because of the ways they have been abused and disrespected by them. Nigerians live with great fear because they are not protected form the dangers on the streets. The justice system is also in a wreck. Justice is only provided for the rich and mighty in the population. The masses are cheated out of their rights by the famous and powerful without anywhere to turn to for justice. The poor are now force to put law into their own hands all because the government has failed them.

Nigeria is in a catastrophic state of mind because of the poor leadership government practiced over the years. The way the nation has been governed over years has had a lot of adverse effect on it and made living there a competition where only the fittest has a chance of survival. I believe that a new, strong, knowledgeable and efficient set of leaders are needed to improve the conditions of Nigeria and give it the revolution that the masses have waited upon for so long.

This my opinion of our Nigeria today and also the other African countries. Nigerians outside the shores of our homeland are not looking forward to going home and the Nigerians at home are also looking forward to the day they will leave the shores of Nigeria hoping never to return.

I have always believed that everyone’s life is defined by the complex relationship between their yesterday, today and tomorrow — but I discovered a unique expression of this reality. On my journey from my past with a friend whose presence was an expression of my present realities, A step that would influence the rest of my life was taken.

Walking through the same path daily was an experience to be remembered, After a guided tour with other kids through life, there was a need to discuss the future. when it was time to part ways, the reality dawned on me that as an individual, a future need was not yet met.

The distinct opportunity of “coming from the past” provided an opportunity to ask questions about the future. Like every other questions with no certain answer, I never knew what the answer will be but I had great faith that the relationship between my yesterday, today and tomorrow will surely define the story of my life.

Hi Everyone,

Okay the weekend is here and am enjoying it. Hope you are enjoying yours too. The summer hols is going to an end now, am trying to get enough rest before school finally starts and also beginning to prepare for school. Am kind of excited about it, don't really know why but i am . Maybe its because i 've so much missed my friends and can't wait to see their pretty faces or something that am not aware of. Anyways, that by the way.

Over the week, i have been bugging out because of my weight. i feel the need to loose like 30 pounds or at least 25 pounds. It is really funny cos a lot people think and tells me that there is no need for me to loose weight but the prob is that i am beginning to feel uncomfortable in my own skin especially because i 've never been this size before. I gained 10 pounds last semester (within four months) as a result of eating unhealthy/junk food and poor stress management .

In a period of two years i have gained a total of 25 pounds (not consistently cos my weight fluctuate depending on my lifestyle), i use to weigh 129 pound two years ago but now i weigh 154 pounds and i have moved from a size two to a size four (six for some pants). Besides, i don't think it is very healthy to gain 25 pounds in two years. So, i guess you can understand why i want to loose this silly weight badly.

Am already working on my diet; have stopped eating fast food and now eating more of vegetables and fruits. but i 've to say that it's not so easy to do' as "Beauty in Bmore" said in one of her recent posts here that most people in America only eat vegetables when they eat burgers; which is very much true and i can't deny doing that especially when i have a very busy schedule. Resuming my daily evening jogging or getting back on the treadmill is now the real prob am having. It's so frustrating when i sit down and start wondering why i didn't prevent gaining this weight.

I really hope and pray that this works out for me. I pray that by the end of this year, i should be back at size two and weigh between 125 and 130 pounds. Pls, anyone with better ideas, advice or helpful tips on how to go about this (loosing weight and managing stress better) should pls let me know through comments or mail. This is my season of sincere appreciation. Am so grateful to God for all he has done for me, my family and the people around me. Yesterday marked the beginning of another year in my life which means that yesterday (22nd of July) was my Birthday. I can't really express how i feel but surely i can say that i have never felt the kind of peace i feel within my soul since yesterday in a long while. I am overly joyed and happy at this season in my life and am actually able to show more confidence and express a greater feeling of assurance that everything is well by the grace of God.

I know i got some people wondering if i 've decided to quit blogging because of my unannounced mia from blogland. Am really sorry but as at the time that i wrote my last post, i had to take a break from everything that seems to be keeping me tied down and focus on me, my relationship with God and my life affairs. At that time i realised that i haven't been on the right page for a long while and also that maybe i was trying too hard to make things better instead of realising that God is with me and in control. So, i figured out that taking a while away from work, the people around me, blogging, and life stress would help me sit down, look back at my life, and maybe figure out what changes i need to make or things that needs to be done. I hadn't finalised my plans on what i wanted to do when i received a call while at work from my sister in naija that my new step-brother was dead. I just couldn't help breaking down when i heard the news. The thoughts of how my father will be feeling after experiencing the loss of three important members of his household(my mum and two children)all in one life time kept me devastated and wondering how there is a need for things to change. Although, i never had the opportunity to held my brother with my own hands nor meet him before he died, his death wasn't an easy thing for me to accept.

The incident didn't leave me any other option than to take a time out. I was indoor for three weeks or so without telling my feeling or issues to anyone other than God. I constantly meditate on my bible for motivation and kept on praying to God to reveal himself to me. This was very tough to do because i had to deprive myself of every form of contact or communication with the outside world but i realised i had no other choice. I was able to read over my blog during this while and i came to the realization that i have kept on focusing on how my past and the present occurrences 've taken me through various undesirable twists and turn that i forgot to give all glory to God and thank him for his love, grace and mercy. Besides, i realised my blog was becoming monotonous which kinda suck.

Anyways, the period of self-seclusion was very productive in my life. God really took control of the whole situation and revealed to me that all i needed to do was to follow him while i let him take the lead in all situations. He has taught me to "love me inspite of me".
Things are really getting better and God has taken full charge of my life , my family and everything that is of importance to us.

I couldn't have been happier when i received a call from one of my godfathers here in U.S. offering me a fully sponsored week vacation to Orlando, Florida. It was a blessing from God which i gladly accepted. Finally, i left for Florida on the 15th of this month and i just returned on the 22nd which is my B-day. I have to confess that i surely had a swell time over there and a visible sun burn. My trip back home was wonderful, i received a lot of calls and mails from families, friends and well-wishers. I actually spent like an hour on the phone with my dad and siblings in naija talking and trying to catch up with each other. I must say it been a while i experience my family being together in a cheerful and graceful mood. It is a great thing for me to actually witness my family coming together again as one despite the odds of the past and i can't thank God enough for what he has done; helping me put the past behind and also giving me the strenght to move one. I believe he won't quit working on me and my family as a whole even when we get to the promise land.

I will like to thank everyone in blogland that has shown me support in various ways, my friends for their continuous love even though am not sure you will be reading this. I can't thank you enough, and i pray that may the good lord bless you all.

For those wondering whether am going to quit blogging, i will like to tell you that i am back, better and ain't going anywhere. Watch out for me.

Heyya, am really sorry of my long absence from blogland, i know i 've missed a lot but i hope to catch up. Much gratitude to all those that left an advice on my last post, i really appreciate it. A lot has happened since the last time i blogged; I spoke to my dad in a long while, My elder brother "E" had a fatal accident (his car was totally destroyed, but to God be the glory, he is alive and healthy), My dads' wife gave birth to a baby boy on the 8th of this month(two Friday ago; the baby and the mum are both doing great), and many other incidents happened while i was away.

These are some of the things i 've been battling with while i was away not to talk of my work that usually keep me out till late in the night. I usually come back home very tired and with a lot of things to deal with. I don't even have time to think nor take care of myself, my weight is fluctuating cos i barely eat healthy and am very much stressed out which my body is not finding easy to adjust to.

I will be back in a couple of hours hopefully to blog about some of the incidents i mentioned earlier and also ask for advice and your opinions on some of the issues; but for now, i need to get some sleep. Also, keep praying for me and my family. I do appreciate your support.

Hi everyone,

Sorry for my long absence , never thought i will take this much time away but i did. For those who did like to know, my exams went well and and the results surely made me pop my collars.
And for those wondering why i didn't come around early enough after my exams; i have been in seclusion trying to find answers to things that has kept my imagination wandering about and caused me to sometimes think that i live in a world of fantasy.
Anyways , am back hoping i will be able to achieve the purpose of opening this blog.

I looked over my previous post on this blog and it got me wondering if i have been able to get anything done. My fear of self-disclosure has been a great obstacle. This is not only affecting me in blogland but also greatly in my relationship with people and life itself.

My experience in life has deprived me of the ability to trust anyone except a few that has been able to earn it over the years; though i do give everyone the benefit of doubt.
Everytime i write a blog i always think; "what if someone that knows me reads this and finds out", "what if ......? and what if......? ".

A lot has been going on with me but i just couldn't summon the courage to talk about it because of my fear. The few weeks i have spent away after my exams; i have spent trying to seclude myself from everything hoping i will be able to think enough and find answer to questions that are really bugging me but no real achievement has been made from doing this.

Most of the friends i have made growing up in life knows little or nothing about me because i have chosen to let people know only what i want them to know. A lot of people knows me to be the coolest creature God has ever made which i truly am but they have no idea about what i have gone and going through nor what is going on with me.

Am in search of a way out of this dilemma of mine. Am really trying to get rid of the obstacle that am bring my way all because of what has happen and is happening.
Pls, advice me on what to do or how to get rid of my fear of self-disclosure. Am at the cross road; do i continue like this or fight for a change.

FINALS TIME ; READING TIME.

I remember the day i came to yankee, there wasn't much assurance nor knowledge of how things will be but i have kept my faith believing in God for the best yet to come. I started college thinking how am i going to make it through but i was very much determined to do my best and leave the rest for God to help me with.

Today, am looking forward to my graduation day that is on its way to my doorstep and wondering what its gonna be like for me in medical school and how am going to make it through, but all am sure of is that ~~..I haven't come this far, Cry my tears, Conquered my past, Not in this; to quit..~~

Today marks the beginning of the end of another semester for me, two more weeks to go. Two important weeks, two weeks of much studying, Two weeks of final exams. Am off for now and will be back in two weeks after my final exams.

Thinking about the numbers of Nigerians living abroad and have never returned since they left, number of Nigerians wanting to leave Nigeria all because of the situation of things. A JOURNEY DOWN MEMORY LANE.

'Sup Y'all,

How are you doing? Am having a great time and not really looking forward to leaving school after my finals. Also the hot weather is beginning to drive me nuts, anyway am managing. Am really grateful to God for keeping me alive till this day and for making me a living testimony and a miracle. Lately, a lot of things that had happened in my past are coming back to my memory.so i have thus decided to share some of them with you.

I remember back in the days when i was still very young(in primary school),how my mum use to chase me around the house because i always refuse to eat anything before going to school and how my dad use to threaten me with his cane. By the time i stop fooling around, we will almost be late for school and my mum will then have to pack the food for me to take to school and eat during lunch break. Only for my stupid self to give it out when i get to school. My friends always love eating my food while i play around with my empty stomach. By the time we get back from school, my mum would have prepare meat pie/cake with ice cream/chilled kunu drink, fruit salad or some other interesting food for us. Weekend were my favorite days of the week, apart from the fact that i don't have to go to school, am always looking forward to the weekend meals cos they are very special. I remember that most Saturday morning, we either have akara/moimoi(bean cake) with eko, or we eat bread and egg with tea. On Sunday evening which are always the best, we always have efo riro specially cooked by my mum with various accessories like stalk fish, shrimp, locust beans etc with pounded yam. Can't really tell you how much i have missed my mum's cooking. I can't help fantasizing/imagining how great and happy i will feel if only i could just taste her food once again which is one of those wishes we have that can never come true. Now i don't even enjoy eating other people's cooking not even my own.I have alot of issues with food, I love to cook (for people to eat)but i usually don't eat what i cook because i get uncomfortable with the heat in the kitchen which causes me to loose my appetite. Also, because i don't eat lot, i tend to feed mainly on snacks but i drink alot of water(finish a gallon of water in two/three days). I don't have eating disorder cos y'all might start tripping, i have taken as much folic acid as you could ever imagine. Alot of doctors said it will make me eat more but it doesn't worked for me which is a great concern for my families and friends.

I can also remember how me and my immediate elder bro "O" use to fight like cat and dog. "O" is two years older than me and he was always trying to tell me what to do and enforce his seniority over me which was one thing i don't like. Growing up among mostly guys and playing alot of sports have affected me a lot, even till today. My life style was very masculine then, and i grew up as a "T-boy" kind off. Anyway, i am now forcing myself to change into a feminine creature. As i was saying, When i was very young, i always stood up for my right and retaliate especially if the drama is coming from a guy which was one of the reasons why my brother and I always fight then. This actually continued till after i graduated from high school. We always fight because of silly things which became worse as we grew older because my father and the older ones were never around to stop my bro from acting all up against anything i do. I remember those days when my bro will be starving at home and will refuse to cook because i have to be the one to cook for him being a girl, and the funniest thing is that whenever i start cooking, he wouldn't come to help yet he will be complaining that he his hungry and that it's taking too long. Finally when the food is ready, he would eat up and then start complaining again that it wasn't delicious enough or something was wrong with it instead of saying thank you, yet he never refused to eat the food i cook. The annoying part of the whole issue is that whenever, i report him to my dad, he doesn't take any action to stop him from doing that. This actually cost us our relationship, although we were in talking terms, we never had a close relationship. Now, we are back to square one; trying to build a relationship which seems to be very difficult cos we have virtually live most of our lifes not giving a damn about what's going on with each other. Although, He is a great guy who will definately take care of his family, do anything for anyone at his own will and convenience, very religious, and loves to keep the mood going; i can't date fellas like him not to talk of getting married to his type because we are not compatible nor complementary in anyway....lol(no mind me, i gat issues too.) I remember having to clean up after him whenever he eats, he loves leaving his plates on the dinning table and doesn't seem to find anything wrong with it. But now that he is grown, one thing i sure know about him is that he loves to keep his room very clean and tidy(i will give him that plus). He might have probably changed from his old childish attitudes cos i haven't spent much time with him in like over five years especially since i left naija years back.

Moving along, growing up in an extended family is not all that. Some days were so much fun and some were drama filled. The drama days, no one ever wish for but they can't be avoided. Growing up, we had alot of maternal and paternal cousins(older) living with us. I could recall an incident when my cousins practised segregation and isolation just like U.S. after the great war. Something that i can't remember happened in the house, and my mum summoned all my cousins to talk to them. After the issue was discussed, all my maternal cousins formed a click and all my paternal cousins were also doing their thang. Naa so this thing continued and they stopped talking to each other. Every night, they always do family meeting(of which my parents were not aware of). The drama lasted for a while until my parents discovered and everything was finally resolved. They are all married now with one or two kids. I can't forget when we use to do "grip am" (Tv comedy) together and how we all sat outside the house(within the compounds) most nights on a mat to tell moonlight stories (with my parents). Those were the good old days in my family(won't trade it for anything). Another set of cousins replaced them as they became grown and had to move on with their lifes.

The practice of extended family in Nigeria is not something that i support because the lows are way more than the ups; what do y'all think.

APRIL FOOL GONE WILD.(part one)

Hi,

How was y'all weekend. mine was ok. Hope you didn't get fooled too much cos this years' april fool was the bomb.

On saturday night, as i was about to get into bed , my phone reminder went off. I picked up my phone only to see that sunday was april fools' day. I felt so excited about it because last year i couldn't pull anything up. So, i began to think what i was going to say that people will believe me. I sha fell asleep while i was thinking. The next morning, that was the first thing i remembered and the plot continued. After doing most of what i had to do, I received a call from my friend "V"(da only naija gurl in my school apart from myself.)telling me to meet her at the dinning.

As i got to the dinning , we got some food and sat down to eat :

Me - Whatz going down?

V - Notin much, i just dey jare.

Me - wetin you wan do for today?

V - 've got chem exam on wednesday , so i gass to read.

Me - guess what?
(my asian roomie gist i wan give cos i know say V dey like to stretch her antenna when it comes to my roomie.)

V - wetin?

Me - APRIL don chop bele ooo.
(her name naa "JU" but naa "APRIL" we dey call her, beside that naa the clue wey i give my girl, but she no smart rich.)

V - Are you serious(her antenna don come out be that)

V - how you take know

Me - how i no go know; i over heard her on the phone.

V - she no see say you dey there?

Me - she think say i don sleep when she dey yawn her friend on top phone.

V - see her life now .

V - how person go come from her country to study here come go carry bele.

V - i no dey sorry for her at all ooo.

V - wetin be uhn.

Me - atleast , no be her fault say she get bele now.

V - wetin, naa my fault abi; see what five mins of stupidity as caused now.

So,"V" continued ranting as we ate our food. She didn't even pity the girl at all.
After eating and we were about to leave, i come tell her say ~~"V" you have just been april fooled. Trust her, the next thing she said was "Thunder fire you", and i gladly said and you too.

As we proceeded to her room, she come dey gist me about how she has already been fooled by her friend. Then she said Ain't you going to fool "E" (MY ELDER BRO), and i told her he was next. So, i called "E",

ME - am fine (in a sober tone)

E - so what is going on?

ME - notin much(then, i increase the intensity of my sober tone cos he didn't seem like he was feeling me at all.)

I then sat down and was watching tv in V's room, and I couldn't help but imagine how sweet he is. Also, I couldn't help feeling bad for doing what I did to him while laughing. Anyway, that didn't stop me from doing it to others , because every naija that I know was a target of mine. After a while, I got up and i went to my room to study. Hours passed by, it was now in the evening, I resumed back to my act. I was having so much fun until one modaf***er call my cell phone to yawn dust for me.

That was the event which spoilt my day but trust me, i showed dem modaf***ers what i can do when am innocently insulted. that will be the part two cos my hands are arching me. Watch out for APRIL FOOL GONE WILD (PART TWO), Coming soon.

Hi everyone,

Sorry it took me a while before blogging, just been a little bit busy and been having emotion clashes lately. but am feeling okay now. So have decide to just gist you on how my week and weekend was.

My week started very well and ended greatly. Finally, the community assistant officer application was out after waiting for over a month. I found out on Wednesday night that the application was out so i called my girl from Trinidad to tell her. The following morning we went to their office to pick up the form, hoping we were only going to fill out little or no information since the school already has our info. But to our disappointment, a lot of b**shit was required. These oyinbo people no go kill person, on top small thing them go they ask for enormous paper work. In the application form , there was about four pages of info to fill out, write an essay, and they also require that we provide three references. Anyway, e don better.

Also i don they wahala all these hospitals / medical research companies for internship because i don decide say i no dey travel anywhere this summer. Am just praying to God that i get something because all the places where i don apply and call, naa one story or the other dem they tell me. Some talk say they no fit employ me because i no be citizen , some talk say naa only voluntary service they fit offer me(these oyinbo people are so selfish, if not why will someone want you to work for them for three months without pay). Anyway, God go soon put all of them to shame.

I was suppose to blog on Friday but i couldn't because two of my girlfriends in school called me up to go to the mall with dem. 'nywayz i sha decided to go and give myself a treat and also get rid of some heavy thought i had on my mind. Apparently it didn't work but I managed to do some shopping for spring. By the time i came back, it was already late and i wasn't feeling so good.

I woke up on Saturday feeling on top of the world until i one of the stupid naija guys in my school messed up my day( That one naa story for anoda day). All dem folks for my school dey mess with me (trying to get a reaction out of me which i know is definitely gonna be BEYOND their imagination). All because they have 've noticed that i wont do anything other than walk away not realising that naa condition make crayfish bend.

I woke up today and got dressed for church, i had a great time in the presence of God and am feeling good and fit to start school again tomorrow. I've been enjoying myself surfing through blogville(read a lot of interesting and funny posts). so, i decided to write a post.

Lest i forget, I will like to say thank you to the naija blogville family for giving me the confidence to tell the world my story. Will also like to thank OVERWHELMED, BIMBYLADS,and MIMI for the warm welcome they gave me, it's really appreciated.

Hi Everyone,

How was your week ? Mine was quite stressful, Had a couple of exams in school, and some running around to do, but am very glad the weekend is here. At least,i will have the chance to lay in my bed for some extra two hours before getting up. Besides, i don't have anything serious to do this weekend other than to read.

Anyway, lets go to the biz of the day. Have a lot of stuffs to blog about and was kinda confused on where to start from, but i guess i will just go on with the flow and keep the mood going. So i have decide to write a summary of my evolution, my family, my friends, and my acquitances for today.

BEYOND is the name, Am a Beautiful, Brown-chocolate complexioned, Slim Princess. Am very cool, brilliant, nice ,intelligent, caring, accommodating, and lovable. ......lol Am very athletic but i do have all the feminine necessities in the right size and well organized in the right sections of my body. Am very shy and quiet but i do feel @ home when am with tight, safe, and cool peeps. I love Reading, Writing poems & journals, Sporting, Travelling, Listening to music, Watching movies, and Chilling with my families & friends. Am just me and that's a little about me.

My family is kind of a unique one, and a little bit extended. My Dad is from kogi state(although his mum was a Yoruba woman)and my Mum is from a great royal family in Ogun state. So, Am from Kogi-Ogun states of NIGERIA. I was born and raised in Rock city, Ogun state. Am the fourth child of a family of five children from my mum. I have three bros(two older and one younger) and one older sis. I also have a "half" Lil sis and a "half" Lil bro (luv 'em till i die). Although we are from a mixed cultural background, we can only speak Yoruba but we do understand a little bit of Hausa too(no be our fault, blame our dad for not teaching us). Apart from Nigerian languages, some of us can speak two or three other languages. My family is a bit influential which made being a member of my family very interesting and not very desirable sometimes. Nevertheless, with all the up and downs in my family, i still thank God for being a member of that family.

Being a lovable person that i am, i have a lot of friends, acquittance and enemies. I am also a lot of people's best friend, princess,and baby girl.
Don't really have much to say about my friends but i guess you will get to know them later on.
